President Corazon Aquino, the most prayed for Filipino of today, according to her friend priest, died of colon cancer at 3:18 a.m.Saturday, Philippine time, August 1,2009 . She is the 11th and the first female president of the Philippines. For the past weeks, Tita Cory's supporters, friends and loved ones have been holding masses and prayer vigils for her recovery. She is the wife of the late Senator Ninoy Aquino, who was shot in 1983 by one of his soldier escorts in the Manila airport. That resulted to a "People Power Revolution" which was the cause of the late President Ferdinand Marcos's forced resignation. Well the rest is history. Because of her sickness, I discovered that she is really well-loved by many Filipinos, especially those she worked with. It's because of her kind-heartedness and being a religous woman. Right now, I would like to research more about her because she's the talk of the town. I really hope that she rests in peace.
